Leadership & Staffing Updates
We’d like to share a few staffing updates as we prepare for the 2026-27 school year:
Morris Elementary Leadership
Kevin VanderLinden has been named principal of Morris Elementary. With 16 years of leadership experience in Bondurant-Farrar, he has been serving as interim principal this spring and will continue as lead principal for the 2026-27 school year.
Student Support Transition
Kayla McConnell will transition to the Intermediate School to serve as Student Support Coordinator, a role similar to her current position at Morris. Kayla brings strong expertise in behavior intervention and will support teachers and students in grades 5-6 next year.
Chris Jermeland, currently a special education teacher at the Intermediate School, has been selected to serve as Student Support Coordinator at Morris Elementary beginning next school year. We look forward to Chris joining the Morris leadership team and supporting students, staff, and families in this role.
Activities Department Support
As part of our continued efforts to support a growing activities program, the district is expanding staffing in this area. Junior high teacher Josh Gibson will take on additional responsibilities as Assistant Activities Director, supporting student activities within grades 7-12.
School Resource Officer
Deputy Schnur, who has served as our School Resource Officer since the fall of 2020, will be transitioning to the patrol division as Polk County assigns a new SRO to our district. We’re grateful for the relationships Deputy Schnur has built with our students and staff during this time and wish him the best in his next assignment.
Deputy Lehman will serve as our School Resource Officer next school year and has started spending some time on campus this spring to get familiar with our buildings, meeting staff, and preparing for the transition.
