Draft 2026-27 Calendar

Community stakeholders are invited to review and provide input on the draft 2026-27 school calendar. Responses submitted prior to noon on November 10, 2025 will be shared with the Bondurant-Farrar Board of Education in advance of their next meeting.
Our calendar development process follows a combination of state law, district policies, and the master teacher contract, which require the following:
- School can start no earlier than August 23.
- 178 student days.
- 10 professional development days.
In addition, past district practices and preferences shape the calendar, including:
- Two 4-hour evenings of parent/teacher conferences in both fall and spring.
- No school the Friday following parent/teacher conferences in both fall and spring.
- No school the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving.
- No school on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
- A one-week spring break in March to align with other area school districts, colleges, and universities.
- Commencement held the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend.
- If possible, concluding the school year before Memorial Day weekend.
