Bullying and harassment are not tolerated, and our team is here to support students in addressing these challenges. Anti-Bullying & Harassment Resources and Tools

Every classroom in the district is equipped with an emergency "Go-Bucket" to enhance safety and preparedness. These 5-gallon buckets contain a variety of essential items, including Stop-the-Bleed kits, that could be utilized during emergency situations. 

Understanding common safety terms is essential for effective communication during emergencies. Below are key definitions to help familiarize students, staff, and families with important safety concepts.

• Severe Weather Shelter-in-Place: Implemented during a severe weather emergency.
• Hold-in-Place: Occurs when there is a threat outside the building or there are non-threatening circumstances that people need to be kept away from (ie: medical emergency or disturbance).
• Active Threat: Occurs when there is a violent threat or violent intruder inside the building. 
• Evacuation: Implemented when conditions are safer outside the building than inside the building. 
• Reverse Evacuation: Implemented when conditions inside the building are safer than outside. Often implemented in combination with other procedures like hold-in-place. 
• Rally Point: Temporary locations away from the building to seek safety immediately. 
• Reunification: If unable to return to the building following an evacuation, reunification procedures are implemented to safely unite students with families. 

In the event of an emergency involving your child, please contact their school directly. For district-wide emergencies, avoid calling the school as phone lines may be in use. Instead, updates will be shared via the Infinite Campus notification system, email, phone, text, the district website, and social media.

The district relies on contact information provided during annual registration to send emergency alerts and updates. To ensure you receive timely notifications, please keep your contact details up-to-date in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal or by contacting your child’s school office.

Each building in our district has emergency radios for quick, reliable communication during emergencies. These radios connect staff with administrators, security, and emergency responders, ensuring fast, coordinated responses to medical issues, security concerns, or severe weather. This system is a key part of our safety plan.

Everyone plays a role in maintaining a safe school environment. If you have concerns about safety, bullying, harassment, or other issues, it’s important to speak up—if we don’t know, we can’t address it. All reports are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.

Bondurant-Farrar schools are equipped with secure entry points to ensure student and staff safety. All exterior doors remain locked during the school day, with designated entrances for visitors. Cameras at entry points allow staff to verify visitors before granting access, adding an extra layer of security to our schools.

Staff across the district participate in a range of safety trainings to ensure preparedness for any situation. These include hands-on sessions like Stop-the-Bleed training, AED awareness, and active threat response, as well as tabletop discussions, situational planning, and building walkthroughs. 

Students participate in various safety drills throughout the school year, including fire, tornado, medical emergency, and bus evacuation drills. While these are not labeled as active threat drills, they include critical components that can be beneficial in a wide range of emergency situations. These drills help ensure students and staff are prepared to respond quickly and appropriately.

We are in the process of enhancing safety across our schools by adding shatter-resistant film to several windows. This specialized film helps reinforce the glass, holding it together in the event of an impact to provide an added layer of protection.
