Summer Safety Trainings
We want to make you aware of several upcoming safety trainings that will take place on our campuses this summer in partnership with the Governor’s School Safety Bureau and Bondurant Emergency Services. These efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
Training Dates:
- June 16–20: Law enforcement officers will participate in an active threat training at Bondurant-Farrar Junior High. This all-day training will include practice scenarios using imitation training weapons and will primarily occur on the second floor of the building. Summer school for students in grades 7-8 will be relocated to the high school during this time.
- August 4: Based on the “I Love U Guys” model, a full-day school/police all hazards and reunification training will take place at the high school. This will involve school safety teams and law enforcement officers from across the state, as well as our administrative team.
- Early August (Date, Location TBD): Our administrative team will participate in an active threat drill alongside personnel from Bondurant’s Emergency Management Services as part of our joint emergency preparedness planning.
What Families Should Know:
- These trainings will not involve students.
- Expect increased law enforcement presence during these dates.
- Activities are planned and part of ongoing safety efforts, there is no cause for alarm.
- Exterior signage will be posted at the training site to help inform the public.
We are grateful for the partnerships we have with the Governor’s School Safety Bureau and our local first responders. These trainings help strengthen coordination between school and emergency personnel and better prepare us to respond in the event of a real emergency.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to assist and appreciate your continued support as we work together to keep our schools safe.
