Preschool Registration
Kindergarten Registration
Eligibility: To be eligible for kindergarten a child must be 5 years old by September 15, 2024.
In order to best prepare for our new students, the district asks new and returning families to complete online registration for incoming 2025-2026 kindergarten students beginning March 31, 2025.
STEP 1: Enroll online via Infinite Campus. Which best describes your family?
- If you are a NEW family to our district and have no children currently attending BFCSD, please enroll your kindergartner online via Infinite Campus.
- If you currently have children enrolled at BFCSD, please log into your Infinite Campus parent portal, select "More" in the lower left corner, then click the "Online Registration" link to start the registration process for your child. Regardless of your child attending preschool with us, you will ADD him/her when you arrive at the STUDENT tab.
Prepare to provide the following information during the registration process.
- Proof of Residency (two documents, ie: purchase or lease agreement, utility bill, payroll check w/ address, vehicle registration)
- Proof of Student's Age (ie: Birth Certificate, US Passport, Custody Document, Adoption Record, Immunization Record that includes DOB).
- Household & Emergency Contact Info
- General Health Conditions, Medications, etc.
- Preschool Contact Info, If Applicable
STEP 2: Submit required health documents.
To complete the kindergarten registration process, a health packet will be required prior to your child’s first day of school. Please refer to the State Health Requirements for further details regarding these requirements.
- Immunization Certificate or Exemption Certificate. *It is recommended that you submit one at the time of registration. If the child needs any additional immunizations, you will have to submit a new certificate to the school nurse at that time.

Other Programs: Developmental Kindergarten
The district offers a Developmental Kindergarten (DK) option for students who are 5 years old (kindergarten age) by September 15th and would benefit from an additional year of instruction between preschool and kindergarten. This program is structured for those students who show academic or social discrepancies from their peers. Students will be selected for DK through an application process. To apply for DK, you'll need to complete the online registration process AND complete the Developmental Kindergarten Form available within the application by April 11, 2025.

New Family Registration
Please follow these steps to begin your journey with Bondurant-Farrar Schools!
Step 1: Enrollment Process via Infinite Campus
A new student enrollment means you do not have any children currently enrolled in the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District. Please prepare to provide the following:
- Provide Proof of Residency (two documents, ie: purchase or lease agreement, utility bill, payroll check w/ address, vehicle registration, etc.)
- Provide Proof of Student's Age (ie: Birth Certificate, US Passport, Custody Document, Adoption Record, Immunization Record that includes DOB)
- General Health Conditions, Medications, Etc.
- Household & Emergency Contact Info
- Home Language information (questions within the application)
Complete the online registration process via Infinite Campus
Note: Please be certain to turn off your pop-up blockers or the registration process will not work properly. Also, know that accessing the online system is extremely difficult via a smart phone/iPad. Please use a computer to complete this process.
Prior to the first day of school, please provide updated State Health Requirements to the school nurse. *Note: All incoming 7th and 12th graders are REQUIRED to have a meningitis vaccine to enter school.
Step 2: Pay Fees or Complete Free/Reduced Application
The appropriate school fees will be applied to your account once the enrollment application has been approved. This process takes 24 hours. You will receive log in information via email to set up your Parent Portal account through Infinite Campus.
Registration Fees and School Meals must be paid via your Infinite Campus Parent Portal on or after July 8th. Fees need to be paid by the first day of school.

- To pay registration fees or optional fees, select Fees.
- To add money to lunch accounts, select Food Service.
- Checkout!
Families with children who could benefit from free or reduced price meals are encouraged to fill out the application to see if they are eligible. Please complete and return this form to the District Office prior to paying any registration fees.
Returning Family Registration
Registration will be available to our returning Bondurant-Farrar students beginning on July 1 each year. You will need to "re-enroll" your students if your family meets the following criteria:
- You have students already attending Bondurant-Farrar Community Schools.
- You are planning to return for the coming school year.
Step 1: Registration Process for Re-Enrollment
Instructions:
- Log in through your Parent Portal, select "more" in the bottom left corner, then access the link titled "Online Registration"
- Please be certain to turn off your pop-up blockers or the registration process will not work properly. Also, know that accessing the online system is extremely difficult via a smart phone/iPad. Please use a computer to complete this process.
- Complete the online registration process.
- Verify household, parent, and emergency contact information
- Confirm existing student enrollments for 2024-25
- Add new students to your household under the STUDENT tab (example: Accepted Preschooler/Kindergartners/Developmental Kindergartners)

Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is the process that allows families residing in an Iowa school district the option to enroll their children into another Iowa school district if space allows under the terms and conditions of Iowa Code section 282.18.
As a receiving district, the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District is CLOSED to open enrollment due to our continued growth and insufficient classroom space. If you feel that your situation qualifies as "good cause" or the open enrollment would be a continuation of education within our district, please complete the application available below.
Eligibility
Students who move out of the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District who have completed grade 10 may continue to attend school in this district without applying for open enrollment.
Transportation
Families of students who live outside the district must arrange for transportation to school or arrange for transportation to a Bondurant-Farrar school bus route.
Athletic Participation
Students who open enroll into grades 9-12 must wait 90 days before participating in interscholastic contests at the varsity level. For questions about eligibility, contact the Iowa High School Athletic Association at 515-432-2011.

Change of Address
When a currently enrolled student has a change of address, residency must be verified. The parent/guardian needs to complete this form along with provide proof of residency prior to the district updating the information. All mail will be sent to the previous address and transportation will not be arranged until proper proof of residency is obtained.
Free & Reduced Price Meals
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.
Who can get free or reduced price meals?
- All children in households receiving benefits from Food Assistance, or the Family Investment Program (FIP), are eligible for free meals.
- Foster children who are under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for free meals.
- Children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant are eligible for free meals.
- Children may receive free or reduced-price meals if your household’s income is at or below the limits on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines.
School Transportation
We understand the crucial role school transportation plays in the daily routines of our students. The following transportation services are offered to K-12 students:
- In-Town Routes: Optional Bus Service "OBS" (pay-to-ride) for K-6 students. Seats are filled on a first come, first served basis until the route is full.
- Country Routes: Free for resident K-8 students residing 2+ miles from school and 9-12 students residing 3+ miles from school.
- Express Shuttle Service: OBS service that transports 7-12 students between campuses (in the morning from the Garfield campus to the JH/HS campus and the reverse in the afternoon). Seats are filled on a first come, first served basis until the route is full.
- Specialized Transportation: Free for identified K-12 students as outlined within their individualized special education plan (IEP).
- Please note: Non-resident/open-enrolled students may be transported as seats are available, and will be required to pay the OBS fee
Special Education, English Language Learners, Title 1
The district is committed to providing services to students to help ensure their academic success. Special program teachers and classroom teachers focus on the same objectives, helping students become even more successful at reading, writing, language and thinking. Students may be recommended for special programs by staff throughout the school year.
State Health Requirements
The State of Iowa requires districts to obtain certain health-related documentation prior to allowing a student to begin school. These documents must be returned to your child’s school nurse prior to the first day of school. Please contact your health care provider with any questions regarding these state health requirements.
- Vision Screening Form (Required for Kindergarten and 3rd grade)
- Dental Screening Form (Required for Kindergarten and 9th grade)
- Immunization Certificate (Required for Preschool, Kindergarten, 7th and 12th grade)
- Lead Screening (Required for Kindergarten. There is no form available, but it will be cross referenced with your healthcare provider)
- Preschool & Kindergarten Physical Form (Required for Preschool & Kindergarten)
- Physical Form (Required for all 7th-12th athletes or band members)
- Diet Modification Request Form (Optional; As needed based on dietary needs)
Does your child need to take medication during the school day? Please complete the Authorization to Administer Medication Form and return to your child’s school nurse prior to the first day of school.
