Board of Education

• Regular meetings are typically held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 5:00 PM in the multi-purpose room of the Bondurant-Farrar Intermediate School (enter through door #3010 on the north side).
• A quorum of three members is required for meetings to proceed.

2024-25 Board Meeting Schedule

• Meetings are open to the public and include a specific time for public communication during Open Forum.
• Electronic agendas are available online at least 24 hours in advance via Board Docs.
• Virtual access is available with login details posted on Board Docs 24 hours prior to each meeting.

State law permits closed sessions for discussions on personnel matters and building site acquisitions. All decisions are made in open session.

At the beginning of each meeting, Open Forum provides an opportunity for individuals to present comments, suggestions, or concerns. Items must be on the agenda for the board to take official action.

• To comment, complete a card at the door and submit it to the board president, superintendent, or board secretary before the meeting.
• Iowa law prohibits discussion of specific employee performance during public meetings.

To request an item be added to the agenda:

• Submit a written request to the Superintendent, Bondurant-Farrar Community School District, 300 Garfield, Bondurant.
• Include your name, contact details, organization (if applicable), and the purpose or background of your request.
• Requests must be submitted by noon the previous Tuesday for inclusion on a Monday agenda.

The superintendent and board president determine agenda inclusion.

Citizens are encouraged to communicate with Bondurant-Farrar educators and school board members.

• If you have a concern, the best place to begin is with those directly involved and responsible, usually at the specific school: the teacher and/or principal. It is there that most problems can be quickly and productively resolved.
• If questions still remain, please contact the superintendent.
• If further action is required, the board is available to hear your concerns. Inquiries to the board should be directed through the superintendent and/or board secretary.
