2021 National School Bus Safety Week

October 20, 2021

Bondurant-Farrar’s transportation department is a critical component of daily operations. In just one school day, over 1,000 students are transported each morning and afternoon with daily miles driven exceeding 450 on district buses and 350 on district vans.

The department consists of 23 school bus drivers and 7 van drivers who are each certified with the State of Iowa. Each driver completes a pre-trip inspection prior to their route and a post-trip check upon returning safely to the transportation facility. Several drivers also assist in twice-yearly bus evacuation drills, held on-site during the school day, ensuring all Bondurant-Farrar students participate in these safety drills.

This year’s National School Bus Safety Week theme is “Be Safe – Know the Danger Zone.” Help us practice bus safety every day of every week all school year long! Please take a moment to review the important resources below.
