Carrie Ratliff headshotDuring their May 23 meeting, the Bondurant-Farrar Board of Education approved the appointment of Carrie Ratliff as assistant principal of Morris Elementary.

Ratliff is the current instructional coach for Phillips Elementary of Des Moines Public Schools, where she collaborates with educators to improve student outcomes and increase achievement through effective, student-centered strategies. In this role, she leads grade-level professional learning communities through data analysis and provides professional development. Ratliff previously served the students of Phillips Elementary as a classroom and special education teacher, in addition to the school’s K-3 literacy interventionist.

“I am thrilled and grateful to join the talented team of teachers and staff at Morris Elementary,” said Ratliff. “I look forward to connecting with the entire school community as we partner to create positive and meaningful learning experiences for our students. It is my goal to listen and learn so I can continue to build on the successful school culture and academic excellence that exists at Bondurant-Farrar. Go Bluejays!”

“Mrs. Ratliff brings a wealth of experience to our team,” said Rich Powers, superintendent. “She has demonstrated the ability to build strong connections, helping her to be an impactful leader.”

Ratliff holds an Advanced Studies Certificate in P-12 Education Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa, a master’s degree in education from Viterbo University, and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Iowa State University.

As assistant principal of Morris Elementary, Ratliff will serve alongside lead principal, Ben Anderson. This opening was created by the district’s strategic shift of assistant principals as we prepare for a grade reconfiguration.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Ratliff to our school community!
