Introducing Our New Traffic and Parking Supervisor
November 19, 2024
The district is introducing a new role to enhance supervision: Traffic and Exterior Supervisor. This position is designed to support our administrators, teachers, and school resource officer by assisting with traffic duties, parking lot supervision, and adding an extra adult presence.
We’re pleased to share that Mr. Jeff Hanson will be stepping into this role, pending board approval.
Mr. Hanson is a retired police officer with 34 years of experience in the Spirit Lake Police Department, including 16 years as Chief of Police. After retiring from the department in 2021, he moved to Bondurant to be closer to his family. Earlier this fall, he joined the district as a special education paraeducator at the junior high, where he is known by students as Mr. Jeff.
Beginning Wednesday, November 20, Mr. Hanson will transition to his new role as Traffic and Parking Supervisor. His responsibilities will include:
- Morning and afternoon traffic duty at the Anderson/Morris crossing
- Exterior supervision during school hours
- Other support as needed, depending on events or schedules
Mr. Hanson’s presence will provide additional support to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe conditions, improving the student experience and allowing our school resource officer to be more available throughout the district.
We welcome Mr. Hanson to this new position and look forward to his impact on our school community.
