Bluejay Digital Program Sponsor Kyle Seidl was joined by students Carolyn Miller and Addison Grosc, as well as, school board director Stacia Sanny and superintendent Rich Powers.

Bluejay Digital encompasses video journalism, streaming, and graphic design. Students work collaboratively on authentic, media-based projects to showcase people and events at Bondurant-Farrar. At today’s convention, the team discussed the key components that have led to Bluejay Digital's success and shared tips for other districts interested in starting their own digital media program.

School board members, superintendents, and other school personnel from around the state of Iowa gather each year for IASB’s annual convention. Roughly 100 of these individuals were in attendance during Bluejay Digital’s session titled, “Let Students Serve as Your In-House Marketing Department.”

Addison Grosc and Carolyn Miller shared their perspectives as students in the program and their appreciation for the authentic, project-based learning. Both students were enrolled in video production elections offered at the middle school level, and have transitioned to the high school which helps to ensure the continuity and longevity of the program.

Bluejay Digital continues to develop its strong live streaming and online presence. This fall, the program attracted over 30,000 viewers to its YouTube live streams of athletic and fine arts events.
