On August 3, 2020, our Board of Education approved beginning in a hybrid model for the first nine weeks of the school year. We have continued to monitor local and regional conditions in an effort to make the best decisions for our community. To guide our administrative team in the decision making process, we created a school closure matrix that will be utilized to help determine which learning model is appropriate given current conditions in our area. The school closure matrix uses Polk County’s 14-day positivity rate along with Bondurant-Farrar’s five-day student/staff absentee percentage to gauge the severity of community transmission which identifies a corresponding learning model.
On September 14, 2020, the board approved the school closure matrix (see chart below).
