Bond Referendum: November 7, 2023

  • September 25, 2023

The Bondurant-Farrar Board of Education has called for a bond referendum to be placed on the November 7, 2023 ballot. With approximately 70-100 new students annually, the proposed $48 million bond would fund new and expanded school facilities - critical needs to support students. Approval of the referendum would not increase the school’s tax rate.

The projects are based on input from the district’s staff, infrastructure committee, and Board of Education, who utilize internal and external sources to help drive decisions throughout the master-planning process.

  • no tax rate increase

Voter approval would NOT increase your school tax rate. In fact, in the last 3 years, the district has lowered our portion of property taxes by $2.01 per thousand. This has been a historic drop in the school tax rate.

Passage would allow Bondurant-Farrar to borrow up to $48 million for the completion of the projects without increasing the tax rate. This is possible largely due to our district’s commercial property growth. A “YES” vote of 60% (plus one) is required for the measure to pass.
