School Calendar Approved for 2024-25

  • On March 7, school board members approved the draft 2024-25 school calendar after holding a public hearing and reviewing staff and community input at their February 26 meeting.

Many of the comments received were in regard to the first day of school occurring on a Friday and the desire to conclude the school year prior to the Memorial Day holiday. With state law prohibiting schools from starting prior to August 23 each year, it can be a challenge to conclude the school year prior to Memorial Day while also allowing time for required professional development, holidays, and breaks.

As noted within the calendar, it is subject to change pending any legislation that may allow for an earlier start date. Should that occur, major breaks and holidays would generally remain unchanged, and we would communicate with families throughout the process.

Thank you to those who provided feedback. We appreciate your assistance!
