Director of Administrative Services

  • Chad Carlson serves as the director of administrative services where he leads the district in directing human resources, supervising the transportation and the buildings and grounds departments, supporting building principals through evaluation and professional development, and assisting the superintendent with planning for district growth and development. The director of administrative services reports directly to the superintendent.

    Carlson was appointed to this position in July of 2016 as part of a newly configured position in the district office. Prior to holding this position, he served as the district’s middle school principal for seven years and was the assistant principal at Anderson Elementary for six years prior to that. Carlson came to Bondurant-Farrar in 1998 as a secondary social studies teacher and was the varsity boys basketball coach for eleven seasons. He spent the first two years of his teaching career at Northeast Hamilton CSD before spending four school years at Allison-Bristow CSD.

    Carlson received his Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Northwest Missouri State in 1992. He earned his Master of Science in Education from Drake University in 2003. He is currently credentialed as a Professional Human Capital Leader in Education (pHCLE) by the American Association of School Personnel Administrators. Carlson is a member of the School Administrators of Iowa as well as American Association of School Personnel Administrators.
