Director of Nutrition

  • Dave Walker serves in a role at Bondurant-Farrar Schools as the Nutrition Director.  As the Director of Nutrition, he meets all State and Federal regulations by serving healthy and appetizing meals to students.  Mr. Walker is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, including long-term planning, and managing personnel in the departments. This position reports directly to the Director of Administrative Services.  

    Dave Walker started with the district in November of 2013. Prior to working at Bondurant, Dave worked for 10 years with a Regional Hotel Corporation, starting as a chef until he left that company in 1996 as General Manager. Dave spent 15 years working for Compass Group primarily as District Manager, overseeing several local Business and Industry Cafeterias. He was at Mercy Hospital West Lakes for 5 years before joining the Bondurant staff in 2013.

    Dave is a graduate of the Kirkwood Community College Restaurant and Culinary Management Program. He has had professional training at the Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie, New York and Napa Valley, California. He has earned certifications as a Certified Food and Beverage Director, Certified Hotel Manager and is a Certified Dietary Manager with the Association of Nutrition and Food Safety Professionals. Dave is a member of the School Facilities Management and School Nutrition Association.
