Announcing New Welding Apprenticeship Opportunity

May 22, 2024

Addison Wilson, center, accepts her welding apprenticeship. The Bondurant-Farrar Community School District is thrilled to announce our first Registered Apprenticeship program, approved by the United States Department of Labor! This program partners with industry leaders to provide hands-on, career-focused training for our students.

In our first year, we are partnering with John Deere to offer a welding apprenticeship to one of our students. We are proud to announce that Addison Wilson, an 11th grader at Bondurant-Farrar High School, is the first student selected for this program.

Yesterday, Addison celebrated her signing day, accepting the welding apprenticeship at John Deere. Her instructor from John Deere, Casey Presnall, school staff, several friends, and her family attended the event. Addison is the first student from Bondurant-Farrar High School to take part in this opportunity, and we couldn't be more proud.

This apprenticeship is registered with the Department of Labor and will provide her with industry-recognized skills in the welding field. Addison will begin her experiences this summer, continuing into next year, and conclude following her graduation from Bondurant-Farrar. Congratulations, Addison!
