  • Bondurant-Farrar Celebrates Public Schools Week

Families, educators, school leaders, and public education advocates across the country are joining together in celebrating public schools from February 27 through March 3; a week designated to highlight and show support for our local public schools.

At Bondurant-Farrar, the teaching and learning occurring in our public schools positively impacts students and families, our neighborhoods, and the communities we serve. Our educators and support staff provide a welcoming and safe environment while going above and beyond to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of each student. The district employs over 375 staff members who are truly #HereForTheKids.

Public schools week is February 27 through March 3

  • Fresh, Locally Grown Meat in School Lunches

Thanks to a local foods grant, Bondurant-Farrar kitchens have been able to serve fresh, locally grown meat in school lunches. Beef from Shivers Farms of Bondurant was served recently in pizza burgers and on the menu again on Tuesday in a pasta dish. What a tasty looking meal!

  • Recognizing Our Outstanding Transportation Department

Did you know February 22 was bus driver appreciation day? We would like to take a moment to publically thank our transportation department for all they do to ensure Bondurant-Farrar students arrive safely to and from school and activities each day - rain, sleet, snow, or shine! We appreciate our outstanding team of bus and van drivers.

  • School Breakfast Week Begins March 6

Did you know your child can get a hot, nutritious breakfast every morning in their school cafeteria?

The week of March 6 is National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) and a perfect time to check out the healthy choices available! The NSBW campaign theme, “DIG IN to School Breakfast,” reminds the entire school community that healthy breakfast options available at school provide an energizing start to the day for students.

Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for many families to find time for a healthy breakfast. Fortunately, Bondurant-Farrar schools offer nutritious school breakfasts, complete with fruit and low-fat or fat-free milk, to ensure students are fueled for learning every school day. Each Bondurant-Farrar school begins serving breakfast at 7:30am and menus are available online at https://www.bfschools.org/Page/232

As a reminder, families who are unable to pay the full price of meals may be eligible for free or reduced prices based on income eligibility guidelines. To complete a free/reduced application, visit our website at https://www.bfschools.org/Page/1128.
