    • Approved initial new staffing requests for the 2024-25 school year.
    • Approved next steps for several improvement projects at the high school stadium including a new sound system, scoreboard, and turf replacement.
    • Discussed the possibility of discontinuing the online streaming of upcoming school board meetings. This option was introduced in 2020 to facilitate participation during the school closures due to the pandemic. Over the last six months, there has been minimal to no community engagement through the online platform.
    • Participation in Part 1 of an informative series aimed at welcoming and educating new board members on effective board service, best practices, and available resources.

  • Friday Flicks Spotlight: AP Spanish at BFHS

The Seniors in AP Spanish class just held a debate about graffiti and street art. The class was split into opposing groups, one advocating for graffiti and the other opposing it as art. And get this—they did it all in Spanish! Enjoy this short video, prepared by senior Addi Grosc, our district's communications intern.

  • 2023 All-State Band Recognition

Pictured Ishan Nichols and Abigail Chambers with medalsTwo students from Bondurant-Farrar High School were selected for the 2023 All-State Band last month, the highest honor for Iowa high school musicians.

Ishan Nichols, a senior, was recognized for his exceptional flute skills and was selected as the 1st Chair for the 2023 All-State Band. Abigail Chambers, a freshman, earned recognition for her proficiency in playing the French Horn, showcasing remarkable skill at a young age.

Only an estimated 25% of students who audition make it into this prestigious ensemble, making their accomplishment truly exceptional. Congratulations to these talented individuals for representing our school and community at the pinnacle of Iowa's musical achievements!

  • Longtime Cheer Coach Receives State Award

In November, Bondurant-Farrar’s Patti Davis received the Distinguished Service Award from the Iowa Cheerleading Coaches’ Association. This award is a testament to her impact on our school and the state's cheerleading community. Please join us in celebrating Patti and this well-deserved recognition!

Congratulations to Patti Davis, pictured with her family, on receiving this award.

  • Iowa School Performance Profiles

Each year, the Iowa Department of Education updates new results to the Iowa School Performance Profiles, an online school accountability reporting system that meets state and federal requirements by publishing report cards reflecting the performance of all public schools.

The Iowa School Performance Profiles provide an overall view of school performance as well as more detailed information, making it easier for stakeholders to understand how each school is serving its students. Profiles include scores and ratings for all public schools, indications of schools identified for additional support and improvement, and data that is required by law but does not count towards scores.
