  • Students Explore Career Opportunities

Students in grades 8-12 had the unique opportunity to get a first-hand look into a number of professions through a recent career fair held on-site at the Bondurant-Farrar High School. Over 40 businesses and non-profit organizations attended the event, representing nearly all of the 16 career clusters. Students in attendance had the opportunity to speak with experienced professionals currently in the field and were able to explore a number of career options during the school day.

The event was organized by the district’s Bluejays SOAR program, which works to increase college and career readiness by connecting students and their coursework to local businesses and real-life learning opportunities. By hosting this event, Bluejay SOAR created an opportunity for students to engage with prospective employers and learn about a wide variety of career opportunities, a vital step in the post-secondary planning process.
