  • Community Members Present Petitions

Community members Laurel Swansen and Patrick Meyer presented more than 585 signatures to the Bondurant-Farrar Board of Education on September 11, allowing for the opportunity for a public vote regarding a $48 million bond referendum aimed at enhancing and expanding school facilities. 385 signatures were needed to call for an election.

The Bondurant-Farrar Board of Education is calling for a special election to be held on November 7, 2023 for a bond referendum not to exceed $48 million. Voter approval would allow the district to construct a new elementary school, high school addition, and new activities spaces. The proposal will not increase tax rates, but requires 60.1% voter approval on November 7, 2023.

More information will be shared with the community in the coming weeks. This will include opportunities for questions to be addressed through in-person community meetings, virtual town hall meetings, and FAQs.

  • School Involvement Opportunities

The district has several advisory committees established to provide input and help guide decisions. Committees include representatives from a variety of stakeholder groups, including board members, administrators, staff, and parents who learn about topics, have discussions, and make recommendations for consideration by the school board.  At this time, two committees are seeking additional involvement from parents - School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC) and the Infrastructure Committee
